Conversion of an historic prison building situated next to the campus grounds. The building is be connected to Krakau Uni and used as an extension to the architecture faculty.

The main concept is to create a harmonious overall ensemble of the existing structure, the outer landscape and the subterranean spaces.

The campus site is laid clear and receives new expression. As a result of the improved connections between the single elements the overall urban structure becomes more readable and self-sustaining.

The sunken courtyards integrate themselves within this arrangement without overwhelming it. They offer calm places to rest and privacy for individual development. Soft landscaping accompanies the courtyards and supports their presence. A counterpart is formed by a green roof which offers an open view towards the sky.
